Emergency Winter Shelter

Shelter volunteers in the evenings assist shelter staff with greeting and signing in guests for the night starting at 6pm, handing out personal hygiene items, and monitoring the shelter space. Volunteers in the morning work with shelter staff to get clients up and out of the shelter by 7am and light cleaning of the shelter in preparation for the next night’s occupants. Shelter shifts are typically 2-2.5 hours and shifts consist of two people.

VOLUNTEER SLOTS ARE OPEN! Please click the button below to view available opportunities and to sign up to volunteer at the Winter Shelter.

Community Mentors

We are looking for energetic and outgoing people in the Concord area to connect with our recently housed clients to assist them in integrating into the city. Once housed, most of our clients are lonely and unsure about how to become part of their community. Our hope is that with some personal connections, social visits, introductions to churches, social groups, public events, and help with accessing local resources, our clients will feel valued and accepted in their new community.

Our long-term goal is to keep clients stably and permanently housed.

Transportation may be necessary. Volunteers should be 18 years of age or older.
