Coming Soon! South State Street
Once the temporary home to CCEH’s Resource Center, the building at 6 South State Street will soon be under construction and developed into eight one-bedroom apartments for individuals exiting homelessness. Each unit will come with a project-based rental assistance voucher from New Hampshire Housing, while CCEH will provide the tenant supportive services to ensure residents are successful in their new homes. The project team includes Hutter Construction, Warrenstreet Architects, and Wilcox & Barton. Funding for the project has been provided by a Congressionally Directed Spending grant through Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s office; Eastern Bank Foundation, NH Housing Finance Authority, Department of Housing & Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant funding from the City of Concord, and Community Development Finance Authority Tax Credits.
There is still time to purchase CDFA Tax Credits to help CCEH “come home” to 6 South State Street, and keep business tax dollars in your community. To learn more, please visit our CDFA Tax Credit Program page.

Pleasant Street Residences
CCEH purchased the property at the corner of Liberty and Pleasant Street in mid-2022. The existing house, which had four apartments, and the separate carriage house, which had two studio apartments, has been converted into eight one-bedroom units for individuals exiting long-term or chronic homelessness. Securing the funding, permits, and variances needed to develop the property took longer than anticipated, but demolition began in the summer of 2023. The building opened in June 2024, and is now home to eight individuals. CCEH continues to provide the wraparound supportive services for the residents, and Concord Housing + Redevelopment manages the property.

Green Street Residences
Once a single-family home, then converted into a small office building, Green Street Residences became the first development project for CCEH in 2021, when it opened its doors to four CCEH clients exiting long-term homelessness.
The historic building, a 2,500 square-foot, 2-story Victorian home built in 1880, was converted into four one-bedroom apartments, one of which is accessible. Thanks to the extensive effort from Warrenstreet Architects, Inc., careful attention to historical detail and restoration of the original architectural and design elements earned CCEH and Warrenstreet the 2022 NH Preservation Alliance Achievement Award for the rehab and re-use. The award recognizes and thanks CCEH and Warrenstreet and our many community partners for an “an admirable re-use project that provides homes to formerly homelessness people. The results show how enhancing the character and features of a notable property not only adds significant value to the community but to the lives of some its most vulnerable residents.”
Four local businesses “adopted” an apartment and supplied all of the furnishings, decorations, dishes, and other supplies.

West Street Residences
In the fall of 2021, CCEH purchased a move-in-ready triplex apartment building. With some minor sprucing up and repairs, done by a group of dedicated volunteers and staff, CCEH was able to house an additional four individuals at West Street by the end of 2021.
